Senators proposed Immigration Bill S.744

On April 16, 2013, 8 U.S. Senators proposed Immigration Bill S.744. This Bill is meant to address border security, update our current immigration system, and provide immigration benefits to many of the 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the United States. The bill has passed the Senate Judiciary Committee and could make its way to the Senate floor in June!

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has recently stated that he believes he can get eight Republican members and nearly all Democratic members of the Senate to vote for the bill, ensuring its passage in the Senate. It is expected that the biggest battle over immigration reform will take place in the House of Representatives.
